GooSync works with Classic

A couple of weeks ago we announced that we have HotSync working on our development devices. While we are waiting for the new version release that will allow you to HotSync as well, we tested GooSync with Classic and can report success. Basically, it works the same way it worked on your older Palm OS devices and offers the same functionality.

We installed GooSync client in Classic following the standard installation procedure (.prc file can be downloaded from GooSync account). After installation and setting GooSync username and password, it is ready to roll.

Through GooSync, you can choose to sync your Google account Contacts and Calendar items with your Contacts and Calendar in Classic. Tasks however can be synced with tasks in GooSync only.

A simple tap on Start button in GooSync client syncs it all.
(Note: Free GooSync users can sync only Calendar items)

So, GooSync works with Classic. And we have to say it works like a charm.

Need a sync program to back up all programs and information within programs on classic so if needing to do hard reset on phone or some other catastrophic thing happens one does not loose their information stored in Classic.

This application is great for syncing datebk 6 up to google (retains categories unlike Good link etc), my wife's classic datebk 6 then is made to match mine every 15 minutes! Things also then pull auto into pre web OS calendar and it keeps in sync at the same time! Only problem that I have had is time zone issue...Google set for right time zone, pre set for right time zone, classic has no time zone option...but shows right time...problem is that Google has everything one hour later...and that carries over into web os calendar 1 hour off.
